Announcing An Exciting, New Partnership
I am excited to announce a new partnership between GECC, LifeNet International, and the AllPeopleBeHappy Foundation. As co-collaborators, GECC and LifeNet International were recently awarded a Challenge Grant from the AllPeopleBeHappy Foundation for a program to transform emergency care in the Masaka District of Uganda. The project seeks to improve health care and referral practices at a growing number of community health centers throughout the Masaka District, which serves a catchment area of nearly 300,000 people. LN will expand its franchise network to local health centers, addressing quality of care issues in basic nursing practices, management practices, maternal care, newborn care, and emergency care. GECC will train LN nurse trainers who will then train staff nurses at LN affiliated health centers in basic emergency care. This partnership allows both LN and GECC to provide new, highly needed services beyond what is currently offered by either organization.
We look forward to working with LifeNet International and the AllPeopleBeHappy Foundation to increase access to trained emergency care providers in the Masaka District of Uganda.
