This year, history was made. Global Emergency Care, in partnership with our co-founding ally Malteser International, proudly celebrated the launch of Uganda’s inaugural Emergency Medical Care curriculum—a landmark achievement in the nation’s healthcare journey. This accredited diploma program has already begun training its first cohort of students, with the potential to equip tens of thousands of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in the years ahead with life-saving skills critical between the scene and the hospital.
Once fully trained, each EMT is expected to serve over a thousand patients annually—transforming emergency response capacity across Uganda. This investment in frontline health workers marks a turning point in the country’s ability to respond to medical emergencies with speed, skill, and confidence. We remain deeply grateful to our partners and to the Government of Uganda for entrusting us with this opportunity to help reshape the future of emergency care for generations to come.
